GARY STEBNITZ, CEO/General Manager
Gary has worked with clients to help them create meaningful lifestyles through remodeling since the late 60’s when he worked with his father’s remodeling business through high school and college. Gary enjoyed many roles including working on the jobsites, sales and design work. In 1974, with a degree in finance and economics, he went to work in the insurance industry exploring insurance sales for several different companies over the next 11 years.
In 1985, Gary and his two brothers decided to buy their fathers remodeling business, Stebnitz Builders, Inc. (Stebnitz). At that time, the business had annualized volume around $300,000.00. During the next 18 years, Gary and his brothers grew the remodeling business. They added a specialized cabinet and countertop sales and manufacturing division, now called Kustom Kitchen Designs. Stebnitz Builders concentrated on clients that either lived in Walworth County or had second homes on the lakes within the county. At the end of 2003, Stebnitz had grown by over 1500%. During that time, Gary developed, implemented and grew the sales departments in both divisions. By the end of 2003 there were seven full time salespeople on staff with Gary as the Sales Manager.
In 2004, Gary sold his interest in the remodeling and general contracting business of Stebnitz, taking over sole ownership of Kustom Kitchen Designs, the specialized cabinet and countertop division. In the role of CEO/General Manager, Gary is looking at this opportunity as a new challenge to grow and develop this business. The company has 12 fulltime staff and two part time office people. His clientele are, in a large part, general and specialty contractors, with support of Stebnitz clients and their kitchen design projects a key focus.
